New Arrival
Yup, I ordered myself a bird book for my upcoming trip...I'm not too sure if I'll see anything, but just in case I do now at least I'll have a stating point!
Stop. Breathe. Enjoy.

Day 23
Frost
I awoke this morning and looked outside to discover that a gorgeous winter wonderland had appeared overnight. I'm posting my 2 favourite shots from this mornings excursion, simply because I couldn't pick between the two.
The frost this morning was like none that I've seen before...it was composed of incredibly long crystalline structures that I found just stunning...of course I couldn't translate it, but I had to try.
The complexity of such a small thing never ceases to amaze me.
There's something romantic about fog to me...I don't know if it's because of the secrets it could be concealing or if it's the lack of clarity.
I adore fog pictures...there's something understated and emotive about them for me and I think that's why I keep taking them. That hint of a shape or form somewhere in the picture is what draws me in, triggering a memory and making me smile.

Day 21
Sunshine...on my shoulders...or anywhere else...makes me happy
After much thought about today's post I decided I had to honor the fact that the sun is out and shining bright. Something that's been sorely missed around here and is about to missed again as there's yet another storm approaching fast.
I awoke this morning to a minimal amount of cloud cover, but what I noticed was that the sun was desperately trying to break through. The skies are now bright blue and the temperature in my living room has shot up 5 degrees, and I love it.
The shot I posted isn't a work of art, it's not technically perfect or even visually appealing to most, but it makes me smile. Probably because the clouds caught my eye and try as I might I can never get them to turn out as good as they looked in real life. I'll never stop trying though.

Day 18
Quite possibly the coolest floral display I've seen in a long time. I'm spending this weekend at a trade show and I had to admit there are feasts for the eyes everywhere!
These were in my neighbours booth and I was transfixed by them. The glass bowl had openings on the sides and I've never seen flowers like these in blue and purple...and I've seen A LOT of flowers. I couldn't resist!

Day 12
Ornamental
Today I finally took down the Christmas tree in the basement...it's not that I was delaying taking it down, It's just that we've been so busy I never found the time. Plus it was out of sight to all but me so who cared?
I couldn't help myself when I saw the ornaments sitting in a pile. I looked exactly how I think christmas should be. Chaotic, Colourful and Cozy.

Day 9
Orion
Late last night/early this morning I went out to try to capture the street light version of northern lights that was out in full force.
Unfortunately by the time I got out back the phenomenon has all but disappeared. Disappointed and not to be one to waste the near frostbite experience my fingers were having (metal tri-pod with bare hands is a bad idea) I decided to turn my camera to the sky. The above was the result.
I have to say I was extremely pleased...if you click on the photo you can see Orion as clear as day.

Day 7
Seeing Red
Well it's now a full week into this project and so far I've enjoyed the challenge. I've had some feedback about the lack of continuity or theme from a few people now. I guess what the theme of this project is it's a reflection of what I find beautiful.
This morning the sun was a welcome sight and the friendship ball hanging in my front window looked gorgeous. Warm and inviting, just like my friend Mr. Sun.
